Cellar Bar Courtyard Festival, Blackburn Appearance Cancelled

Yoddle Locals!

Unfortunately we've had to cancel our appearance at the Cellar Bar Courtyard Festival, Blackburn. Apologies to anyone that was planning to come down but don't worry, you can catch us at The Malt, Blackburn on Friday 30th May. Support comes from The Steady Boy's, a ska punk extravaganza from the North East, well worth a listen. Bands start from 9pm and we'll be playing the cover song chosen by Alex at the last gig. This will be your next opportunity to pester us to play another cover song, whatever you like, just fill out the request slip on the night and we might play it at the next one.

Ta Ra for now

charity, winner, and photos.’

Hey friends

Thanks to all who ventured to the North Bar last Wednesday to give generously to 'Guide Dogs for the Blind' and also the obligatory throwing of shapes.

It was a great event by all means with many thanks going out to special guest Roy Turnham, The Quiet Fire, Captain Trips and us, backs generously patted.

Also a big thank you to Timmsy for doing the sound and Ronnie who owns the North Bar and also put a donation in from behind the bar, excellente! If any bands wish to put a gig on of their own then you could drop Ronnie a line at http://www.north-bar.org.uk/ .

As part of the self organising nature of last Wednesday we started a 'AW cover request' competition. We bring a box, usually covered in some horrible velvety paper, and some request forms. You write down ANY song you want to see us play at the next gig along with your email address and slip it in the box. We then draw a slip out at random and whatever it is, we gotta play it!

The winner from Wednesday 16th April is Alex (Turgid) Martindale with the request of 'Monkey Wrench' by the Foo Fighters. He will get to hear the song at the gig as well as a pint to drink whilst he enjoys the song. We have already organised the next gig on the 30th May at the Malt (Blackburn) which will be with The Steady Boys and one more TBC.

In other news, the tour photos are on our AW fan page on Facebook under 'fan pictures'. If you can't be arsed going there, not to worry, they will be up on myspace and here very soon, including our outing to the beach and attempting various sports. Most. Tired. Ever.

Out.

Tour review and upcoming-ness

Hello there droogies

Its been 1,162 miles, 4 near death experiences, new breaks, rear suspension (wink) and an undisclosed quantity of alcohol and we have reached the end of this leg of our series of 2008 tours.

We met a lot of interesting (should about cover it) people and a few parking attendants on the way and we would like to thank everyone involved in making the tour possible.

In particular we would like to thank our good friend Josh Thomas for being our public representative and photographer, and also distributing flyers and merchandise. Oh yeah, and for bringing the mead and jager, t’was good. We have lots of photos due to Josh’s efforts so we will be putting those up soon in a dedicated album.

Looking forward, we have a upcoming charity gig at the North Bar (Blackburn) on the 16th of April for Guide dogs for the blind (www.guidedogs.org.uk) Playing with Captain trips (Newcastle), our good friends The Quiet Fire (Blackburn-ish) and special guest Roy Turnham get down and throw some shapes and generally take it to the bridge, past the bridge and all the way to the bank.
